For yet another year my sister and I will be heading to Birmingham for the Festival (we've been going for at least 10 years with me flying over from Madrid and my sister travelling up from Derbyshire. It's now a tradition and we make a special holiday of it! We're really looking forward to finding inspiration and seeing familiar faces which we will do, no doubt.

Your daughter is at that sweet, wonderful age where she still wants to be with you (not the teenage years) so take advantage and do lots of fun, creative art projects together.

Would love to see you both again at the festival of quilts, I enjoyed it so much a few years ago.

Hi, I'd LOVE some free tickets to the FoQ. I've been following your work for years, I even have your book on Painted Quilts, but if it hadn't been for Linda quietly slipping me a card at the FoQ last year I'd never have known about Design Matters TV & all your wonderfully inspiring courses! So I'd love to come back and give you both a hug! Lots of love, Dawn Hollamby

I really look forward to the weekly newsletter arriving, it nearly always inspires me to stitch or paint something. I used to dread the words “sketch book”………… and now I LOVE filling in my many sketchbooks. Thank you also for taking the time to film all the courses.

I am determined to get to the Festival of Quilts this year, it is always inspiring and a great opportunity to stock up on all sorts of things I can’t buy locally. It’s much better to see what you are buying, I have had a few interesting experiences trying to buy online! Also it’s a great chance to browse the book stalls for some new ideas.

Please may I enter for a chance to win two tickets.

I think it would be an interesting challenge to use that handsome Cockerel as the inspiration for a textile piece. I see lots of applique, stitched lines and patterns, and thread variations, with opportunities for a 3D look. A visit to the FoQ would be just the place to enjoy finding all the materials I might need, and no doubt plenty more besides! 😉

Not usually my type of textile art, but during lockdown I made a number of quilts; some small pieces but also a few colourful offerings for Project Linus which is such a fantastic charity.

I imagine the Festival of quilts must just blow one's mind!!

And you're right, Linda, he is a very handsome devil!!

Congrats on being at and in Quilt Festival!!! One day, I will go to that one. Laura, enjoy your day with your daughter! As a mom of 33 & 36 year olds that I do not get to see but once or twice a year, your time with your daughter is precious. I have found that doing an art project together, leads to many other ideas and is good time to just enjoy the creative process and making good memories. I love the roses! They do not grow well in FL. I have one in honor of my grandmother who had a full on rose garden of 144? I think. She lived in NY where they grow well.

Linda, fabulous finds at the Auction! It is fun to find treasures! There are certain stores I have to stay away from because of that!! Lol.
